The Paradox of Spirit and The Ego-Mind

Updated: Jul 21, 2022

How Can You Accept the Wholeness of Who You Are, and Still Desire to Create Permanent Behavioral Change?

This seems contradictory, but the purest, simplest truths are often paradoxical. To exist in the physical experience that we do, there has to be the tension of the opposites. Batteries must have a positive and negative charge. In a way, we could look at ourselves as batteries or electric systems, charging the body machine. The electric energy is our True Self. The physical body and mind are our machines - instruments of separateness that allow us (Life Force Energy) to have a unique, physical experience.

The human school has a beautiful system of balance created between the Self and the Ego-Mind. Your Ego-Mind is your instrument of separateness. Your Self is your vehicle of unity. This transformational paradox creates a very profound polarity between your Ego-Mind and your Self. It manifests as a creative tension in which the ego tries to preserve your separateness, while the Self tries to merge into the unity of all things. - Hu Dalconzo, Self Mastery, A Journey Home to Yourself

The key to learning how to embrace and love yourself fully as you are now, is to practice identifying with your True Self instead of your Ego-Mind. As you practice identifying with your True Self instead of:

  • The roles you play,

  • The emotions you have,

  • The beliefs that you've accumulated along the journey of your life,

You can:

  • Detach from the hats that you wear that allow you to function in this world,

  • Feel and release feelings that come to you as intuitive messages, allowing you to take action in your life instead of being stuck in the muck, stewing in your emotions,

  • Examine and change the beliefs that no longer serve you.

This process is extremely empowering in that we start to release judgement of ourselves and by extension, we release judgement of others. You can get to a place of complete forgiveness of Self and Others. Forgiveness sets us free!

When you no longer identify with the Ego-Mind, you realize you are already perfect exactly as you are, because you are here! All life that is born on and of the Earth carries that electrical life force spark of energy, is the frequency of Pure Love, and deserves to be loved!

YOU DESERVE TO LOVE YOUR SELF, AND TO BE LOVED

That Love energy includes both the positive and negative charge, the masculine and the feminine, the Yin and the Yang, the primal urges of the human mammal and the pureness of the Spirit of God. It’s all Love. The tension between these opposite charges creates the experience of Love. We can’t truly know Love unless we know Love’s opposite – Fear. Any emotions, thought patterns, or beliefs that affect us negatively come from a state of Fear. But Fear is a gift to us because it creates the polarity that provides the canvas for all the depths of experience we can imagine to play out in the Great Story of Life.

The negative polarity of Fear causes the frequency of the Positive Charge of Love to slow down enough to be observed and experienced. Thus, we have the gift of Life.

Fear simply points the way back to Love, until we come to understand that we cannot be separate from Love. Then we are free to experience all the pleasure and suffering of life without attachment or judgement of ourselves, or of others and how they choose to play out their own lives.

Like the prodigal son, we are always welcome back to our home, to the open and loving arms of the father. We carry with us all the richness of experiences that we had along our journey. Many stories, and much knowledge to share. The father receives the prodigal son with love, joy, and acceptance, and gets to marvel in the excitement of the stories and benefit from the richness of experience.

When we learn to accept and release our emotions as they arise, we come back to a state of Joy. Joy is the natural state of life. Other emotions show up simply to let us know that somehow we are going against ourselves. Feelings are messages sent to us from Spirit telling us we need to set a boundary or take action to change the way we are doing something if we want to get back to a state of Joy.

The Language of Feelings is the language of your intuitive Self! Your heart feels the intuitive messages that are sent to you by Spirit. Your uncomfortable feelings are messages that you are out of harmony with your Self. When you resist, repress, or deny your feelings, you disconnect yourself from your Self. - Hu Dalconzo, Self Mastery, A Journey Home to Yourself
Since the average emotional age of the adults in the US is only fourteen, and since most fourteen year olds have not mastered how to communicate their feelings, most of us have modeled caretakers who never learned how to maturely communicate how they feel. - Hu Dalconzo, Self Mastery, A Journey Home to Yourself

You deserve to be loved! Most of our caretakers didn't know how to show love to us and communicate feelings in a healthy way. And they certainly didn't know how to love themselves! We aren't taught how to do that. But you can learn to love yourself, and meet those needs that your parents weren't able to meet. Then you can teach people how to love you after you learn how to love yourself. You can learn how to use responsible, mature communication to teach others how to treat you, set healthy boundaries for yourself, and ask for what you need!

BACK TO THE PARADOX

It IS possible, to use the paradox to our advantage. We can use the Ego-Mind as a tool, an employee of sorts, and allow it to exert its efforts that make us each an individual so that we can can function in the world and enjoy life through our unique preferences and motivations. We can use the Ego-Mind and not identify as the Ego-Mind, and identify with our True Self or Spirit instead.

Identifying completely as the Self lets us separate our Selves from our less-than-satisfactory behaviors, allowing us to release judgement, and forgive ourselves.

This is the type of permanent behavioral change that can happen when you commit to doing the Self-Mastery work. Your Ego-Mind is your tool, your employee, but You are the Boss. You get to shape it and tell it what to do, and you can make it work for you, not against you. In this way, it is possible to accept yourself and love yourself exactly the way you are, but still do the work to create permanent behavioral change. Remember You, are not your behavior.

Food For Thought

What if all adults were responsible for teaching others how to treat them, respect them, and love them? If we all loved ourselves and took care of our own emotional needs, think of all the saved time and energy we could use to create, work, solve problems, and simply enjoy life and be present with the people we love!

This is my perspective and my words after using the coaching tools myself, and from trying to emotionalize and put the exercises from the HuMethod Healing Modality into action in my life. You may agree or disagree with some or all of my words and that is perfect, because this is only my perspective. Words can't tell the whole truth, they can only act as symbols that point in the general direction and hope to be understood by the heart.
